A January trip looking for summer

Why do so many choose to travel in January? Because after Christmas it costs less; why post-panettone depression must be fought in some way; because if you live in a cold place you want to take a break in the heat and if you live in a warm place you want to take a break in the cold!

We help you to choose wisely where to go on holiday in January!

Madagascar

An island state off the southeastern coast of Africa, Madagascar is a huge island, the fourth largest in the world. More precisely, it is located in the Indian Ocean opposite Mozambique, on the Tropic of Capricorn.

Synonymous with escape from the other side of the world, Madagascar is still easily accessible from Europe because the air connections are very good and the time difference (only 2 hours ahead) is not felt: a perfect place if, after the end of the year, you want to get away in the heat in a still wild land.

You will find paradisiacal beaches, crystal clear and always warm waters, coral reefs, rainforests, parks and nature reserves that are home to an infinite number of endemic plant and animal species: you can only find lemurs here, for example.

Do not miss Antananarivo, the capital on the highlands, and its Lake Anosy surrounded by jacaranda trees, Route Nationale 8, with the stretch of road characterized by rows of huge and centuries-old baobabs and, in general, explore this incredible territory as much as you can : there is so much to discover.

In January, the average temperature is around 27°. But avoid the always rainy east coast.

South African Republic

The South African Republic has the seasons reversed compared to ours: here in January it is summer. It is an immense country, so you will have to evaluate the type of holiday that suits you best and select your destinations accordingly, or really have many days of vacation available if you want to travel far and wide.

Unmissable Cape Town, from which you can reach Table Mountain, Robben Island, white beaches and the Cape of Good Hope, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. Leaving Cape Town, you can set out to discover the Garden Route, towards Port Elizabeth.

For water sports, head to the Durban area, although some passing thunderstorms may happen. Further north, the Kruger Park is the top for an unforgettable safari. Given the extension of South Africa, temperatures vary depending on the area: around Cape Town, the average is between 21 and 25 degrees and the climate is airy; warmer and wetter in Durban and Kruger.

Cuba

Another hot spot in January is Havana. With an average of only 5 days of rain and temperatures between 18 and 25 degrees, the climate in Cuba is conducive to your trip in search of heat. January in the Caribbean means relaxation and experience: discover the culture of Latin America, appreciate a break from your roots and your habits, appreciate the differences and novelties before your eyes.

How many days do you need to visit Cuba? Each trip is subjective, but with a little good will you will be able to find your own itinerary to discover Havana in two days. Optimal temperatures, unique experiences, a journey to discover the history and culture of Cuba: when to go if not in January? January temperatures in Cuba can reach 25 degrees!

Myanmar

And after the African and American continent, we leave for Southeast Asia in search of heat and land near the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea, in Myanmar, a fascinating nation otherwise known as Burma.

Do not miss the capital Yangon, or Rangoon, where the splendid golden Shwedagon Pagoda is located, which houses Buddhist relics from the 6th century.

January is the ideal month to go outdoors and discover breathtaking landscapes, archaeological sites such as Bagan and fascinating cities such as Mandalay and Mingun without suffering from excessive heat and humidity. Enjoy the experience of a cruise on the Irrawaddy River, which flows from the north to the south of the country for over 100 kilometers and, if you want to relax on the beach and swim in azure waters, opt for Ngapali Beach, which is a true paradise made of white sand and soft, coconut palms, fishing canoes and incredible sunsets.

The average temperature is 25 degrees and the weather is sunny.
